Let's tackle world poverty for our peaceful life!

May children be happy!

Are you living happily? Are you enjoying your life? However, there are many people who are suffering from poverty, diseases, and conflicts. I wish everybody, especially children, would live a peaceful life. In this bog, I will show you one idea of how to tackle poverty.

Tackle poverty first.

First I think we should consider why poverty still exists. Iqbal Quadir talks about 'The power of the mobile phone to end poverty.' Please discuss his talks.

Why does poverty still exist despite decades of development aid? In this talk, Iqbal Quadir explains why "aid does damages: because it empowers authorities instead of people," and advocates a new approach to development from below, "by the people for the people." His own experience as a child in Bangladesh and later a banker in New York brought him to realize that "connectivity is productivity" -- and that a simple cell phone has enormous power. Now his telecom company, GrameenPhone, offers service to most of rural Bangladesh, creating new opportunities by connecting villages to the world

Iqbal Quadir

Though the poverty issues are complicated, we can do something, I believe.

One at a time

We should try to solve poverty all over the world. One at a time is the best policy, I think. Don't waste food or things, and natural resources will be preserved. If so, global atmosphere may be improved. And if you have opportunities, you should help poor people by donating or volunteering. Poverty is one of the big problems for our peaceful life. Let's tackle it one at a time.

I wish for a peaceful world! Happy holidays!

Good articles with good titles and leads

Hello,

Do you know how to write good English essays or articles? The point is how you should show your titles and leads in your writing. Good titles attracts a lot of people, so that they want to read your passages, and clear leads can help people understand what you want to say. You should first see what the article structure is if you want to be a good English writer.

How to put the title and head on your writing may be a little bit tough for you, though. For example, the following title is not clear: e.g. 'Shopping,' 'Hobby,' or 'Food.' Instead of those titles, you should say, for instance, 'Shopping makes you happy,' 'My hobby is eating out,' or 'Heathy food is my priority.' So clear and specific titles are the most important for your writing to be read by many people.

You should check out if you can understand the article structure, so you go to the next web page:

writing news: a quick primer

It gives you a lot of suggestions of how to construct the article. It points out the following keys:

The lead
Who, what, where, when and why
Write for a reader who’s intelligent but unfamiliar with your topic
Use the “inverse pyramid” structure
Use direct quotations
Keep it clear and simple
Be objective
Check your facts
Keep it short

These are all necessary for your good writing.

I hope you will become a smart blogger in English. By trying to make your own nice blog and learning how to write English effectively, you will be able to use English well and perhaps make much money.

Cheers,
