Be happy!

Hello all,

Did you enjoy your university life in 2007? I think you have had many wonderful or terrbile experiences so far. However, I hope you will be happy and cheerful in 2008. That is because you have your beautiful future. Be happy and be cheerful!

I am trying to always enjoy my life. I am still not young so I am sometimes suffering from back or leg pain. I can't move my body so smoothly like I was young and strong. I often have stiff shoulder and neck. These days I am worried about metabolic syndrome because of too much eating and drinking without enough exercise. However, my metal part is still young, so I am very interested in many new things, such as computers, music, arts, and world pop culture. These things will make me happy.

I will show you part of my interests:

1. Travel

I would like to visit many places which are unknown or uninteresting to most people, such as downtown in Tokyo. Or I want to meet many common young people all over the world.

2. Sports

I like skiing and swimming, so I would like to enjoying skiing in the European Alps or Rocky mountains in North America. Also I would like to go to Tahiti to stay in the house on the sea, enjoying swimming in the sea.

3. Gambling

I would like to go to Las Vegas to play games for gambling, if I had much money.

4. Miscellaneous curiosity

Anyway, I have good curiosity always. I want to do new things, but I don't like to meet danger.

Finally I want to say it again. You should be happy and enjoy your life. Youth is very precious. If you lose it, you will easily understand how important youth is. Many people haven't realized it. However, just playing or wasting time is not fun. It is often important to make efforts or try to do something eagerly. You can enjoy it and be happy.

So I do hope you will be happy this year and try to do your best.

Happy News

Cheers!

Let's tackle world poverty for our peaceful life!

May children be happy!

Are you living happily? Are you enjoying your life? However, there are many people who are suffering from poverty, diseases, and conflicts. I wish everybody, especially children, would live a peaceful life. In this bog, I will show you one idea of how to tackle poverty.

Tackle poverty first.

First I think we should consider why poverty still exists. Iqbal Quadir talks about 'The power of the mobile phone to end poverty.' Please discuss his talks.

Why does poverty still exist despite decades of development aid? In this talk, Iqbal Quadir explains why "aid does damages: because it empowers authorities instead of people," and advocates a new approach to development from below, "by the people for the people." His own experience as a child in Bangladesh and later a banker in New York brought him to realize that "connectivity is productivity" -- and that a simple cell phone has enormous power. Now his telecom company, GrameenPhone, offers service to most of rural Bangladesh, creating new opportunities by connecting villages to the world

Iqbal Quadir

Though the poverty issues are complicated, we can do something, I believe.

One at a time

We should try to solve poverty all over the world. One at a time is the best policy, I think. Don't waste food or things, and natural resources will be preserved. If so, global atmosphere may be improved. And if you have opportunities, you should help poor people by donating or volunteering. Poverty is one of the big problems for our peaceful life. Let's tackle it one at a time.

I wish for a peaceful world! Happy holidays!

Cheers,
